Mertie receives Leadership Health Care award

Leadership Health Care (LHC), an initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council to nurture the talent of Nashville’s emerging health care leaders, has announced its 2016 award winners in the categories of Health Care Emerging Leader of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and Supporting Organization of the Year. The awards were announced at LHC’s annual holiday and awards reception, attended by more than 200 LHC members.

Scott Mertie, president of Kraft Healthcare Consulting, received the Ambassador of the Year award. This award recognizes an individual member who has shown dedication and commitment to LHC and serves as a positive reflection of the organization’s mission and goals. During 2016, Scott served as a major recruiter for LHC, coordinated event sponsorships and hosted a number of LHC board meetings. Having been part of the Nashville health care community for nearly 25 years, Scott is a key champion of LHC, always making sure to promote the Council and LHC when traveling outside of Nashville.

“Over the past year, LHC has done an exceptional job of nurturing the talents of up-and-coming health care leaders, as evidenced by this year’s outstanding and well-deserving award recipients,” said Will Howorth, LHC board chairman and vice president, strategic business growth, HCA Urgent Care. “It is through the dedication and commitment of LHC members, and their companies, that we are able to continue to foster such a robust pool of future industry leaders here in Nashville.”
