Our process, which was developed based on years of experience hiring accountants, is more comprehensive than the typical recruiting company's process. While some recruiters merely review resumes or talk to candidates on the phone before they send them your way, we follow a thorough process to help ensure that we send you only qualified, competent candidates who will meet your needs and your expectations. *Success is defined as the candidate's being employed by you 60 days after hire.

How the process works

Step 1. We use a client questionnaire to learn about the position requirements and will talk with you to understand your needs and expectations. This process helps us determine the job description and type of person we need to recruit.

Step 2. We advertise your position through various traditional and online media and in industry-specific publications as appropriate.

Step 3. We conduct initial phone screenings prior to bringing in candidates for interviews to ensure that their background and experience match your needs.

Step. 4 Before you meet with candidates, we conduct in-person interviews and have applicants complete the Predictive Index Personality Profile. We've found the Predictive Index to be highly effective in predicting candidate success in a particular position. Our interview team will include HR professionals, plus a management-level CPA. If you are a current KraftCPAs client, we'll have the member or manager on your engagement involved in the interview process.

Step 5. We typically present three to five candidates for our client's review. Once the client has interviewed these candidates and made a selection, we conduct a thorough background check before the employment offer is made.

Step 6. The background check includes, but is not necessarily limited to:

  • a credit report
  • county and statewide criminal record checks
  • education verification
  • professional license verification
  • prior-employment reference checks

A more detailed background check is available for an additional fee.

Some clients prefer to make the offer and negotiate salary and benefits themselves; however, our HR team can assist in this process, if requested. We can also provide salary-survey information to help you determine an appropriate compensation range for the position.

Fee

The fee is 20 percent of the first year salary, and we only get paid if you hire a candidate we recruited for your position. The fee includes:

  • advertisement of the position
  • review of resumes
  • phone screenings
  • in-office interviews
  • Predictive Index Profiles
  • background/reference checks
